Every so often, we will see some cat hater on some social media platform perpetuate the lie that cats are aloof creatures, that cats don’t care about their humans, that cats only tolerate us because we give them food. Of course it’s a lie. Anyone with any remote knowledge of cats knows that it’s a lie. Cats love their humans so much, it’s not even a question. With that said. some cats really are antisocial. But that doesn’t mean that they represent all cats. The same way that some humans don’t like other humans, but you wouldn’t characterize all of them that way. These cats. it’s not that they don’t like humans. They generally don’t like anyone. Only few get to breach their walls and melt their stone-cold hearts. It takes a lot of work, a lot of persistence, a lot of patience and the ability to face rejection over and over again. And if there is one creature in the world that has an abundance of all of this, it is, of course, kittens.
