EXCLUSIVE: CBFC changes Rose-mary Marlow to Rose-mary Carlow in Mastiii 4; asks for THIS modification in the Aftab Shivdasani-old man sex joke

The sex comedy Mastiii 4 hit cinemas today and has already grabbed eyeballs thanks to its popular franchise and naughty trailer. Even before its release, there was apprehension that the Central Board of Film Certification would insist on multiple cuts. Bollywood Hungama had exclusively revealed two days ago that the board had asked for six dialogues to be altered. We can now share the detailed breakdown of some of these changes. A source told Bollywood Hungama, “One of the lines from the trailer that drew both laughs and criticism was the exchange between Aftab Shivdasani and an elderly patient. The old man tells Aftab, ‘Mujhe jawan ladki ke saath sex karna hai’. When a worried Aftab warns, ‘Lekin aisa karne se maut ho jaayegi’, the patient quips, ‘Marti hai toh mar jaaye saali’. In the theatrical version, this entire bit has been toned down. In the film, the patient now says, ‘Mujhe jawan ladki ke saath masti karni hai’. Aftab still cautions, ‘Lekin aisa karne se maut ho jaayegi’, to which the patient replies, ‘Main marne ke liye tayyar hoon’.”The source continued, “That is not all. The three women with whom the trio have an affair in Grand Masti (2013) are named Rose, Mary and Marlow. Read together, their names form a cheeky double meaning in Hindi. In Mastiii 4, a glamorous character is introduced as Rose-mary Marlow. Her name has now been changed to Rose-mary Carlow. It is surprising that the censors had no issue with the gag in the second film, released 12 years ago, but have objected to it this time.”Directed by Milap Zaveri, Mastiii 4 stars Riteish Deshmukh, Vivek Oberoi and Aftab Shivdasani, who have always featured in the previous parts of the franchise as well Masti (2004), Grand Masti and Great Grand Masti (2016). This time, they are joined by Ruhii Singh, Shreya Sharma, Elnaaz Norouzi, Natalia Janoszek, Shaad Randhawa and Nishant Singh Malkani, along with Arshad Warsi, Tusshar Kapoor and Nargis Fakhri. SCOOP: SS Rajamouli pushes limits again; Mahesh Babu’s Varanasi gets Rs. 1300 cr. budget

SS Rajamouli took the global audience by storm with the launch of his next directorial, Varanasi, starring Mahesh Babu, Priyanka Chopra, and Prithviraj in lead roles. The first teaser has become the talk of the town, and there is a demand to know more about the film from cine-goers all across the board. And now, we have an exclusive scoop on the budget of the film. Very reliable sources close to the project have confirmed that Varanasi will be made on a historic budget of Rs. 1300 crores, excluding the amount kept aside for print and publicity. “Rs. 1300 crore is a rather small amount to bring the mammoth vision of SS Rajamouli to the spectacle. While films like A6 and Ramayana are being made on a budget of Rs. 1500 crores to 2000 crores, SS Rajamouli is set to make a bigger looking film than the two on a much lower budget,” a trade source shared with Bollywood Hungama. We hear that SS Rajamouli has craftily designed some of the most epic sequences and is shooting for them in a planned manner. “Rajamouli is one of the most well-organised directors of Indian Cinema. He has designed all the moments on paper and is now merely executing them. He isn’t someone who wastes time and money by deciding things on the set. He has done the pre-viz, and then shooting, leading to the saving of money for the producers. However, the film will look bigger than any other film made in India.”The source also confirms that the Globetrotter event was one of the biggest events ever conducted in India, as SS Rajamouli and team spent Rs. 20 crores on the same. “Everything around the film will be the biggest ever. This is just the beginning.”Varanasi is set for a 2027 release. Also Read: Here’s the cost of SS Rajamouli’s Varanasi announcement event.

Sholay’s original ending finally set for release; restored version to hit theatres on December 12, 2025

The makers of Sholay have officially announced the release date of the newly restored 4K version of the 1975 classic. The film, featuring director Ramesh Sippy’s originally intended ending, will arrive in theatres on December 12, 2025, marking the first time Indian audiences will see the climax exactly as it was envisioned five decades ago. This announcement comes shortly after veteran actor Dharmendra, who headlined the iconic film alongside Amitabh Bachchan, was discharged from the hospital following a recent health scare. The actor is currently recovering at home. The restored version of Sholay has been created by the Film Heritage Foundation in collaboration with Sippy Films. The team sourced a rare colour reversal print from London, located the original camera negatives, and even recovered long-lost deleted scenes from a warehouse in Mumbai. The result is a 4K restoration that returns the film to its original 70mm format. The film made its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) earlier this year and is set for its Australian debut at the Indian Film Festival of Sydney (IFFS) in October. With the newly announced India release, the restoration is now headed for a wide audience. The Original Ending, Five Decades Later One of the biggest draws of this version is the reinstatement of the original climax, where Thakur kills Gabbar Singh-an ending that had been altered due to censorship restrictions during the Emergency. Speaking to Bollywood Hungama last month, Ramesh Sippy explained the circumstances that led to the change. “In 1975, it was the time of the Emergency. So, we couldn’t argue too much. But the end that I put in had to be shot at the last minute,” he said. “This changed climax was the same ending that took place in every film at that time. The police comes and says, ‘Ruk jaao’! It was a typical ending. That’s what I didn’t like; there was no other reason.”He added with humour, “The Censor officials stressed that ‘He’s an officer. He should not be taking the law into his own hands’. Actually, I can’t say hands as he didn’t have any.”With the restored version now set for a December 12 release, audiences will have the chance to revisit Sholay in a form that honours its scale, craft, and original creative vision. SCOOP: Dhurandhar expected to have a run time of 3 hours plus; will be Ranveer Singh’s LENGTHIEST film

All eyes are on Dhurandhar and hence, its trailer is highly awaited. It was all set to be launched on November 12, but due to the circumstances last week, it was pushed to Tuesday, November 18. As the world waits to ascertain if the trailer is as exciting as the teaser, Bollywood Hungama has learned that, going by the recent trends of several biggies, Dhurandhar has also turned out to be a lengthy film. A source told Bollywood Hungama, “Dhurandhar has a vast and expansive storyline. The focus is on Ranveer Singh’s character and what he goes through, while there are also other actors who have a crucial part. Director Aditya Dhar is clear that he doesn’t want to rush through the narrative and at the same time, ensure that every scene engages and excites the audience.”The source continued, “At present, the final run time of Dhurandhar is more than 3 hours. It is somewhere around 3 hours and 5 minutes. The final duration, locked by Aditya Dhar, Jio Studios and B62 Studios, will be known in the next 10 days.” It remains to be seen if the length is brought down or if it remains the same as mentioned above. If Dhurandhar is indeed 185 minutes long, it’ll turn out to be the lengthiest film of Ranveer Singh’s career. Until now, that honour was enjoyed by Dil Dhadakne Do (2015), which was 2 hours and 51 minutes long. This was followed by Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani (2023), which had a run time of 2 hours and 48 minutes (in cinemas). Then came 83 (2021) and Padmaavat (2018); their duration was 2 hours and 43 minutes. Kill Dil (2014) is his shortest film, as it had a run time of just 1 hour and 57 minutes. Besides Ranveer Singh, Dhurandhar also stars Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, R Madhavan, Arjun Rampal and Sara Arjun. The entire team of the film, except Sanjay and Akshaye, is expected to attend the trailer launch on November 18. Having pulled off the biggest casting coup, the Siddharth Anand directed action thriller is touted to be the biggest action film of Indian Cinema. Reliable sources have confirmed that the budget of King will be around Rs. 350 crores, excluding the amount that SRK and team decide to splurge for print, publicity and other ancillary expenses.”King started as an action thriller with an extended cameo from SRK, with Sujoy Ghosh as the director. The initial budget was Rs. 150 crores only, but the script had scope to go bigger and better. When Siddharth Anand came into the picture, he sat down with SRK to make the film on a grand scale, by designing action sequences on a never-before scale.
