Resident Evil Requiem promises to be another terrifying experience in Capcom’s popular horror universe, and part of it is because it’s revisiting a post-destruction Raccoon City with some very interesting characters. Survivors from Resident Evil Outbreak are already in play, but recently, Producer Masato Kumuzawa teased there could be more returning characters. Just. don’t get your hopes too high for that certain one. Kumuzawa shared these sentiments during a podcast with IGN this week. There, he spoke to the return of characters in Requiem, which has been a hotly discussed topic since the game’s announcement: I would say that yes, there are going to be some characters from the past series to come in, but don’t over-expect or hype it. We can’t promise you anything about that, but the only thing I can say is that there will be characters that have been involved in the Raccoon City incident involved in the game. Speculation has run wild about Requiem, and this is likely to stir that fire further. One reason why Kumuzawa was likely cautious is that many have been asking for Leon Kennedy following the stellar launch of the Resident Evil 4 remake. At the risk of editorializing this news, that’s boring. You’re boring. I like Leon, too, but come on. The inclusion of Outbreak characters from the get-go, means that we could also mean that characters like former STARS prospect Kevin Ryman, mysteriously adaptive janitor David King, or even Yoko Suzuki, who was involved in experiments conducted by Umbrella. Perhaps we could also see other BSAA members besides Chris and Jill come into play. Maybe time for Barry Burton comeback?.
