“He’s a politician” – 2-time WWE champion issues scathing comments about working with CM Punk in AEW

A former WWE and AEW talent has once again shed an interesting light on his working experience with CM Punk in the Tony Khan-led company. The star in question, Bobby Fish, parted ways with All Elite Wrestling back in 2022. Ad The Best in The World was fired by AEW in 2023, after his backstage scuffle with Jack Perry at All In : London. The incident was not the only off-screen disturbance the Chicago-native had found himself involved in, as it followed only around a year from his locker-room fight with Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks during the “Brawl Out” fiasco in 2022. Punk also reportedly ejected talent and even high-level executives from tapings of the company’s then-new show Collision, which he supposedly had a time developing creatively and/or producing. Ad Trending Former AEW star Bobby Fish shared some choice remarks about the former World Champion during his recent interview with TMZ’s Inside the Ring. He claimed that while rumors suggested that Punk was a “politician”, he tried not to form opinions regarding the latter until they had personally interacted. His 2021 singles bout with The Voice of The Voiceless, his subsequent conduct and what transpired afterwards, supposedly gave Fish his first impression of the Straight-Edge Superstar. Ad “The story was always kind of put out there that he’s a politician,” Fish said. “I don’t judge people on hearsay. I wait until I have an interaction with them, then that’s when I start to form my opinion. And, that AEW match, and what would come after it is what my first impression was, and my interaction. with Phil Brooks was that. So, to me, he proved everything that I needed to know about him in those moments and in those interactions.” [H/T Wrestling Inc] Ad What’s going wrong between Jey Uso & WWE? Check now! The former Undisputed Era member claimed that the latter had spoken to Tony Khan about him and their interpersonal problems, presumably in unfavourable terms, which made it difficult for him to communicate with the All Elite Wrestling head honcho. Ad “Before I’m a pro wrestler before I’m the guy signing checks to win or lose I’m somebody’s father, I was somebody’s husband. That all comes first. If we’ve got differences, we talk face to face. If it has to go to the parking lot, it can. But come on I’m somebody’s father. I don’t need that. But what I definitely don’t need is you going to the principal’s office. Phil, you tattled on me. I get to the back, and you’re already in Tony Khan’s ear. Then you both not just him you both walk away from me and each other when I approach. There’s nothing man about that.” [H/T Ringside News] Shortly after his firing, Punk made his long-awaited return to WWE, where he currently reigns as the World Heavyweight Champion on the RAW brand. × Feedback Why did you not like this content?
