TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) — Tommy Castellanos had a standout game for Florida State, scoring two rushing touchdowns and throwing a 50-yard touchdown pass to Duce Robinson as the Seminoles scored on six straight drives to defeat Virginia Tech 34-14.
Florida State’s running game was effective throughout the contest. Ousmane Kromah rushed for 59 yards, while Samuel Singleton Jr. added 53 yards, helping the Seminoles accumulate a total of 237 yards on 46 carries. After a scoreless first quarter, Florida State took control of the clock and put together five scoring drives covering 56 yards or more.
Robinson was a key target for the Seminoles’ offense, catching six passes for 134 yards. The junior now boasts three consecutive 100-yard receiving games and five such performances in 2025.
Virginia Tech leaned heavily on their ground attack, led by Marcellous Hawkins, who carried 12 times for 101 yards. The Hokies totaled 238 rushing yards. Quarterback Kyron Drones contributed with an 8-yard touchdown pass to Ayden Greene and a 4-yard touchdown run, finishing the game 10 for 18 passing with 125 yards. Despite these efforts, Virginia Tech suffered their fourth loss in five games.
