One of the most challenging tasks in **ARK Survival Ascended** is defeating map bosses. The *Valguero Ascended* update revamps all existing content with improved visuals and introduces a brand-new boss encounter. However, while this update adds a new boss, it also removes the infamous trio of the Forsaken Oasis. This means that, despite the new addition, the total number of boss encounters remains the same.

## All Bosses in ARK Survival Ascended Valguero
### 1) Grendel
Grendel is the new Megaraptor boss introduced in ARK Survival Ascended Valguero. This boss deals a decent amount of damage, but the most dangerous aspect is its bleed effect, which quickly chips away at the health of your tames.
While the fight itself isn’t particularly difficult, it features multiple gimmick mechanics. During the encounter, Grendel will occasionally become immune and jump around the arena. Additionally, there is a phase where the entire arena becomes shrouded in thick fog, cutting all visibility and forcing you to light a specific area in order to continue the fight.

### 2) Broodmother Lysrix
The Arachnid boss, Broodmother Lysrix, makes a return in this update. Similar to the old Valguero in *Ark: Survival Evolved*, this boss deals heavy damage and is the second strongest boss in the game. It can quickly shred through your tames if you’re not prepared.
A good strategy before facing the Broodmother is to stock up on plenty of food and bring a healing tame to keep your team alive throughout the battle. Additionally, using the **Courage Roar** of Yutyrannus is an effective way to boost ally damage, helping to shorten the fight significantly.
To fight Broodmother Lysrix, head to **The Lair**, a cave system located within the Redwood Forest. The boss guards the cave entrance at coordinates **(74, 42)**.

### Changes in the Forsaken Oasis
It’s important to note that the developers have removed the Megapithecus, Dragon, and Manticore gank fight that used to take place in the Forsaken Oasis. This was done to bring players something fresh and original for the DLC. The introduction of Grendel provides a great new challenge for both new and experienced players.
