Team India all-rounder Shivam Dube recently revealed the contents of his kit bag while currently participating in the T20I series against Australia Down Under. Known for being an integral part of India’s shorter format team, Dube shared insights into the equipment he carries with him in a segment on former Indian batter Aakash Chopra’s YouTube channel.
Dube disclosed that he carries five to six bats with weights ranging between 1170 and 1160 grams, all fitted with a normal handle and a single grip. “I have 5-6 bats in the kit,” he said. Additionally, he carries seven to eight pairs of gloves since they tend to get spoiled quickly, requiring frequent replacement.
His kit also includes a helmet, thigh pad, and chest guard—though he mentioned that the chest guard is only used during practice and not in matches. Dube uses different shoes for batting and bowling, noting that his bowling shoes are a bit heavier. He also keeps sunscreen in his bag, separate from the kit. While he carries a cap, Dube expressed a dislike for hats and clarified, “I do not like hats at all. No hats.”
Reflecting on his recent performances, Dube put up a vital all-round display in the fourth T20I against Australia, which India won by 48 runs. He scored a quickfire 18-ball 18, including a four and a six, helping India post a total of 167/8 batting first. In the bowling department, he delivered two economical overs, claiming 2/20 and securing key wickets of Mitchell Marsh and Tim David. His contributions significantly helped bowl Australia out for 119.
