What are Trials in ARC Raiders?

Trials: An Exciting Form of Player Progression in ARC Raiders

Trials offer another engaging way to progress your character in ARC Raiders. With so much already to do in the game, why not add Trials to your to-do list while exploring Topside? Completing Weekly Trials rewards you with valuable gear, and if you push through the Ranks, you can unlock exclusive seasonal items to show off. Here’s everything you need to know about Trials—from unlocking and completing them, to understanding Ranks and maximizing your points.

What Are Trials in ARC Raiders?

Trials are challenges that reward you with gear for completing specific tasks in ARC Raiders. Essentially, it’s a highscore system: the more points you earn in a match, the better the rewards you receive. There are two main systems—Weekly Trials and a seasonal progression system found under the Ranks tab.

Weekly Trials include tasks such as damaging Hornets, destroying ARC foes, and searching loot boxes. Each Trial has its own progress bar, and the more points you accumulate, the greater the rewards you unlock. The rewards are tiered, with Reward 1, Reward 2, and Reward 3 unlocking at 1,000, 2,500, and 4,000 points respectively.

Important: You must successfully escape to bank the points earned in a match. If you fail to extract, all progress from that match is lost.

What Are Trials Ranks?

Within the Trials screen, there is a Ranks tab which represents a seasonal career progression system, offering rewards at each tier. There are 14 ranks to climb during a season:

  • Rookie I
  • Rookie II
  • Rookie III
  • Tryhard I
  • Tryhard II
  • Tryhard III
  • Wildcard I
  • Wildcard II
  • Wildcard III
  • Daredevil I
  • Daredevil II
  • Daredevil III
  • Hotshot
  • Cantina Legend

As you complete objectives and safely return, you earn XP that helps you advance through these ranks and unlock the associated rewards. Generally, progressing to a new rank grants one new item along with all rewards unlocked in previous ranks. For example, reaching Tryhard I rewards you with the Archeologist Backpack, plus the Black Eye face style and Happy Jig emote unlocked at Rookie III.

Advancing from Daredevil III to Hotshot does not provide additional gear but presumably grants the Hotshot badge as recognition. The highest tier, Cantina Legend, is reserved for the top 100 players on the server, who receive the exclusive Scarlet Black outfit color.

When Do Trials Unlock?

Trials unlock once you reach Level 15. You can access them by navigating to the Raider tab and selecting the badge icon located in the middle of the bottom menu to open the Trials page.

How to Complete Trials & Earn More Points

Each Trial has a specific in-game task to complete, and your performance is rated on a three-star system:

  • Earn more points during a match to reach a higher star rating.
  • The goal is to achieve a three-star rating in a single match and then extract safely.
  • Points are not cumulative across matches—only your highest score per Trial is recorded.

For instance, earning 1,000 points (one-star rating) in one match and then 3,000 points (two-star rating) in the next will result in your best score being 3,000 points—not 4,000.

To maximize your progress, focus entirely on the single Trial’s task during a match. You can monitor your progress by opening your Inventory and checking your Logbook for in-game Trial stats. Once you fill all three progress bars, you’ve achieved the three-star rating and should extract immediately to bank your points.

Note: If you fail to extract successfully, you lose all the points earned in that match for Trials, although you retain any XP earned towards your Raider level. Trials progress rewards only count if you survive and extract.

Tips for Success in Trials

  • Play on zones with major map conditions such as Night Raids or Electromagnetic Storms to receive double rank points.
  • Form a full squad with players who share the same Trial objectives so you can work together efficiently.
  • If you’re not equipped for PvP, avoid engagements with other players—extracting quickly with some progress is better than risking losing everything after spending a long time in a match.

Trials add a rewarding layer of challenge and progression in ARC Raiders, offering great gear and bragging rights. With these tips and information, you’re ready to jump in and start climbing the Trials ranks!
