Snapchat (SNAP) announces $400 million deal with Perplexity AI search engine

Snapchat (SNAP) has announced an exciting new collaboration with Perplexity AI that will bring the AI search engine directly into the Snapchat app next year. This integration will enable users to interact with Perplexity’s AI companion within Snapchat’s photo and video chatting platform, enhancing the way users find information and engage with content.

The partnership was revealed in a press release issued alongside Snapchat’s Q3 2025 earnings report. The collaboration is set to launch early next year, allowing Snapchat users to ask questions and receive answers seamlessly within the app environment. This move builds on Snapchat’s previous efforts in artificial intelligence, having already introduced its own AI chatbot service.

Aravind Srinivas, CEO of Perplexity, emphasized the mission behind their technology, stating, “Perplexity’s mission is to support the world’s curiosity. Millions of people connect and discover the world through Snapchat. By bringing Perplexity to Snapchat, we’re able to serve that curiosity directly where it occurs.”

Snap CEO Evan Spiegel echoed this vision, explaining that the company aims “to make AI more personal, social, and fun.” With this new partnership, Snapchat is positioning itself at the forefront of AI-driven social experiences.

The announcement coincided with Snap’s Q3 2025 earnings report, where the company exceeded revenue and earnings expectations, signaling strong momentum as it integrates advanced AI capabilities into its platform.
