The Nintendo Switch 2 is off to an incredible start. After a massive first quarter, Nintendo has revealed that its second quarter is almost as strong.
In Q2 FY26, the Nintendo Switch 2 sold approximately 4.54 million units, bringing the total sales to over 10 million since its launch. According to Nintendo’s (NTDOY) Q2 FY26 earnings report, the console has officially sold 10.36 million units since its launch on June 5, 2025. This marks an increase of 4.54 million units from the Q1 FY26 report, where Nintendo noted sales of 5.82 million units.
The Consolidated Financial Highlights provide further insight into the performance of the Nintendo Switch 2, as well as the original Switch and software sales. Nintendo Switch 2 hardware sales reached 10.36 million units, while Nintendo Switch 2 software sales hit 20.62 million units.
In addition, the original Nintendo Switch hardware sales totaled 1.89 million units, with software sales reaching 61.56 million units.
Nintendo Switch 2 sales weren’t the only win for the Big N in its second reporting quarter. Donkey Kong Bonanza, released in July, sold 3.49 million units. This means that approximately one in three Nintendo Switch 2 owners purchased a copy of the game.
Overall, Nintendo continues to demonstrate strong growth with the launch of the Switch 2, bolstered by impressive hardware and software sales.
