Mike ‘The Situation’ Sorrentino Talks Getting His Abs Back After Losing 30 Pounds

Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino is celebrating the return of his iconic abs after losing 30 pounds through a disciplined fitness and diet regimen.

In a new interview with the New York Post, the Jersey Shore star said, “I probably haven’t been this weight since 19 or 20 years old. I’m also realizing that maybe a lot of genetics have to do with it because as soon as I lost the weight, the abs are just there.” He joked, “I’m like, ‘Oh my God, God decided to give me back my abs!’”

The 43-year-old explained that he worked out for two hours a day, five days a week, and cut some Italian staples out of his diet, including pasta and chicken cutlets. “Abs are made in the kitchen. I never cheated on my diet, but I’m going to start to implement that cheat day because I’m down to 180 now,” he told the outlet.

Sorrentino shared that the production team for *Jersey Shore: Family Vacation* doubted he could recapture his early-2000s physique. “I started telling production at MTV, ‘I think I’m going to get ‘The Situation’ back,” he recalled. “I’m putting in the work, I’m starting to look good.’ And they were like, ‘Yeah, okay.’”

“Because I’m not a spring chicken. I’m not in my 20s anymore… but as the weeks started to go by, I started to see the weight come off,” he added.

His comeback surprised both the crew and fans, who saw his new look at the MTV Video Music Awards and on Instagram. “Everyone’s like, ‘Oh, he had a facelift,’” he recalled. “And I’m like, ‘It was gym, tanning, laundry!'”

Sorrentino also denied speculation that he used GLP-1 drugs such as Ozempic, telling the Post that he avoided them because they reportedly cause muscle loss.

“What a journey I’ve had from having my abs when I was first introduced to the world to now post prison, post addiction, recovery and now having them again,” he said. “I have the family and the story and the sobriety, and now I got the abs back. All those things are priceless. You have to earn those. I put the work in for all of that.”
