Former President Donald Trump recently criticized New Jersey and Virginia gubernatorial candidates Mikie Sherrill and Abigail Spanberger, questioning why anyone would vote for them. In a social media post, Trump claimed that these candidates support policies he opposes, including transgender rights for everyone and allowing men to compete in women’s sports. He also linked them to high crime rates and the highest energy prices worldwide.
“VOTE REPUBLICAN for massive energy cost reductions, large-scale tax cuts, and basic common sense!” Trump urged his followers.
The former president highlighted the current low gas prices, predicting they will soon drop to approximately $2 a gallon under Republican leadership. He warned, however, that if Democrats maintain control, gas prices could rise significantly, reaching $4 per gallon or higher.
A recent gas price analysis supports part of Trump’s claim, showing that the average cost for a gallon of regular gas had fallen below $3 per gallon just a week ago.
“Under President Trump, gasoline will come down to approximately $2 a gallon very soon!” he said. “With the Democrats, you’ll be paying $4, $5, and $6 a gallon, and your electric and other energy costs will, likewise, soar.”
Trump concluded his message by urging voters to choose the Republican Party for “a great and very affordable life.” According to him, voting Democrat will only result in “unrelentingly high crime, energy prices through the roof, men playing in women’s sports, and heartache!”
