NFL Executive Vice President Jeff Miller has given the MetLife Stadium playing surface a huge thumbs-up. According to a report by NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, playing surfaces and increased efficiency were topics of discussion at the NFL’s fall owners meeting.
Per Rapoport, Miller described the MetLife playing surface as “playing really well and has for a while.” He added that it is considered one of the safer surfaces in the league.
Miller’s comments have sparked reactions among fans on social media, particularly on X (formerly Twitter). In a tweet, Ian Rapoport wrote:

Some fans, however, criticized the NFL for not doing enough about player safety concerning turf fields. One user tweeted:

In the same post, the user further urged the NFL to take player health and safety more seriously, addressing the league directly:

MetLife Stadium, which is scheduled to host the final of the FIFA World Cup in 2026, had its turf updated ahead of the current NFL season. Despite fan concerns, there are reportedly no plans to replace the turf with natural grass, especially given the positive approval voiced by Miller regarding the current playing surface.
