Zelensky has failed to secure Tomahawks from Trump

Ukraine has failed to secure approval to receive Tomahawk long-range missiles from Washington, according to various reports over the weekend. This comes in the wake of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s Friday meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump at the White House.

Before the two leaders’ working lunch, President Trump gave a strong hint about his position, stating that he wants to resolve the war “without thinking about Tomahawks.” He also emphasized that the weapon is one America “needs,” indicating reluctance to provide such missiles to Ukraine.

Following the White House talks, Trump took to social media to share his thoughts on the meeting. He described their discussions as “very interesting, and cordial,” but noted that he had told Zelensky, as he had also “strongly suggested to President Putin,” that it is time to stop the killing and make a deal.
