Steel Path Nokko build in Warframe – Invisible Mushroom King

The Best Nokko Build in Warframe

Nokko is the newest Warframe to be added to the game, bringing an interesting suite of damage, area control, and survivability with his kit. While it will take some time to test his capabilities at Warframe’s most extreme difficulty levels, this build will comfortably get you through the standard Star Chart and Steel Path.

Nokko’s Abilities Overview

Nokko’s passive allows him to avoid fatal damage. When reduced to zero HP, he transforms into a small mushroom, granting a window of time to reach one of the mushrooms he has previously placed. If he reaches a mushroom in time, he will be reformed.

His first ability lets him place mushrooms that spew viral-damaging spores. The second ability acts as a source of energy and buffs his ability strength. The third ability turns Nokko into a tiny mushroom, granting a quick heal, invulnerability, a speed boost, and the ability to put nearby enemies to sleep.

Finally, his fourth ability unleashes an enemy-seeking mushroom that explodes on contact, bounces between enemies, and can also bounce off previously placed mushrooms to gain damage buffs.

As you can see from his kit, Nokko’s meta revolves around holding position and camping out to take advantage of overlapping areas of effect.

Recommended Arcanes and Companions

  • Arcanes: Molt Augmented and Arcane Crepuscular both provide plenty of ability strength.
  • Companions: Shade or Huras Kubrow for Invisibility and survivability while Arcane Crepuscular is active.

Subsume Ability

Use Roar on Nokko’s third ability. This synergizes well with the build and enhances survivability and control.

Arcane Shards

Equip a single yellow (Tauforged Yellow) Arcane Shard to help with starting energy.

Mod Recommendations

  • Dreamer’s Bond / Corrosive Projection: Choose based on your preference. Dreamer’s Bond is excellent for team play, while Corrosive Projection is better if you’re struggling against armor.
  • Umbral Intensify: Provides a large boost to ability strength, forming the basis of your damage output.
  • Stretch (+45% Range): Essential for this build as it benefits greatly from increased ability range.
  • Augur Message: Increase ability duration. You can swap this for Reach if you prefer more range instead, but extra duration is beneficial.
  • Primed Continuity: A huge buff to ability duration, critical to Nokko’s sustain and crowd control.
  • Augur Secrets: Another strong ability strength boost.
  • Primed Flow: Grants a huge energy pool, allowing you to spam abilities freely especially during Void Cascade.
  • Overextended: Further increases range, while reducing strength slightly. This is balanced by Arcanes and Subsume buffs.
  • Streamline: Flexible slot; use this for efficiency or augment if experimenting with different subsume abilities (like Tempest or Sonar).

Exilus Slot

Cunning Drift — more range to complement your build and allow you to cover more ground with your abilities.

Playstyle Tips

The general approach with this build is to arrive at your holding point, activate your third ability with Roar for approximately 50 seconds of enhanced buffs, then place two instances of your second ability to stack energy regeneration and ability strength buffs. Next, place four of your first ability mushrooms to cover key entrances and exits.

Once set, sit back and spam your fourth ability — the enemy-seeking exploding mushroom. Always keep three active at a time and refresh your abilities as needed. The fourth ability can hit some impressive damage numbers due to its ability to crit and bounce between enemies and mushrooms.

Performance and Survivability

This build has proven effective in Steel Path missions, longer Arbitrations, and solid Void Cascade runs, making it a safe and reliable choice for high-level play. Nokko’s passive and mushrooms provide a strong safety net if an unexpected area-of-effect attack threatens your survival. In most cases, however, your damage output will eliminate enemies before that becomes an issue.

Overall, Nokko offers an enjoyable mix of survivability, crowd control, and damage, making him a worthy addition to your Warframe lineup.
