Bollywood superstar Salman Khan recently responded to director AR Murugadoss’s remarks about the failure of their film *Sikandar* and the alleged delays caused on set.

During a recent episode of *Bigg Boss 19*’s Weekend Ka Vaar, Salman defended his decision to work on *Sikandar* and addressed Murugadoss’s criticism. The director had blamed Salman for arriving late to the sets, which, according to him, disrupted the shooting schedule.

Salman said, “I used to arrive on sets by 9:00 PM and that created issues.” He also shared, “My ribs were broken,” alluding to physical challenges he faced during the shoot. He added with sarcasm, “Lekin kya hai na main set pe raat ke 9 baje pahuchta tha, toh usme gadbad ho gayi. Meri pasaliyan tooti thi, isne jo hamare director (AR Murugadoss) sahab hain unhone ye kaha.”

**Director’s Comments on Set Delays**

In an earlier interview with Valaipechu Voice, AR Murugadoss explained some reasons behind the movie’s underperformance. He stated, “It’s not easy to shoot with a star. Even day scenes, we have to shoot at night because he turns up on set only by 8:00 PM. If there were four kids in a scene, we would have to shoot with them at 2:00 AM. They would become tired by that time and usually dozed off.”

**Salman’s Take on the Film and Murugadoss**

When asked if there are any films he regrets, Salman mentioned *Suryavanshi* and *Nishchaiy*, but defended *Sikandar* strongly. “People do say it can be *Sikandar*, but I don’t believe that. The plot was good.”

Salman also took a jab at the film’s director, saying, “Initially, the film belonged to Murugadoss and Sajid Nadiadwala, but later Sajid escaped. Then Murugadoss also left and made a film in South.”

He further mocked Murugadoss’s recent film *Madharaasi*, commenting, “*Madharaasi* karke picture unhone direct ki hai jo ki release hui bahut badi film hai. *Sikandar* se badi blockbuster,” highlighting its lukewarm box office performance.

Despite a star-studded cast including Salman Khan and Rashmika Mandanna, and a reported budget of ₹200 crore, *Sikandar* failed to impress audiences. The film grossed only ₹185 crore worldwide, according to Sacnilk, and received mixed to negative reviews from critics.

**What’s Next for Salman Khan?**

Salman Khan will next be seen in Apoorva Lakhia’s *Battle of Galwan*, which is currently in production.
