Giants coach Brian Daboll shrugs off rookie QB Jaxson Dart’s hamstring injury

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) — New York Giants coach Brian Daboll downplayed the hamstring injury that had rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart listed as a limited participant on the team’s practice report. Daboll expects Dart to play Thursday night against the reigning Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles.

Dart’s sore left hamstring was first noted when he made and won his first NFL start on September 28. He only missed playing time that day while being evaluated for a concussion and went on to play the entire game this past weekend at New Orleans.

When asked Tuesday if the current hamstring issue was the same injury or something new, Daboll responded simply, “He’ll be OK.”

Dart threw two interceptions and fumbled in a turnover-heavy loss to the Saints on Sunday, which dropped the Giants to a 1-4 record.
