Actor Shweta Tripathi has commenced shooting for *Mirzapur: The Film* in Varanasi, as reported by Mid-Day. The film adaptation of the popular Prime Video series reunites Tripathi with co-stars Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal, and Rasika Dugal under the direction of Gurmmeet Singh.
**A Deep Connection with Varanasi**
Shweta Tripathi shared her special bond with the city of Varanasi, calling it her “second home.” She explained how her character, Golu Gupta, is deeply intertwined with the city’s essence. “So much of Golu’s journey, her transformation, her pain and strength are rooted in this city,” Tripathi said. She described Golu as a companion who has “lived many lives through the seasons,” highlighting the character’s evolution over time.
Tripathi’s association with Varanasi extends beyond the *Mirzapur* series. Reflecting on her career milestones, she remarked, “So many of my milestones are connected to this city. From *Masaan* to *Mirzapur*’s first and second seasons, from *Escaype Live* to *Kaalkoot*, every project here has given me something unforgettable.”
**Bringing Golu to the Big Screen**
Having portrayed Golu since the first season of *Mirzapur* premiered in 2018, Tripathi finds the transition to the big screen both challenging and rewarding. She shared, “To bring her to the big screen is both challenging and rewarding because the stakes feel higher not just for her but for the world of *Mirzapur* itself. Doing that in Varanasi, where it all began, feels right.”
