Pope Leo Expresses Hope That Hamas Will Accept Trump’s Peace Plan
Pope Leo praised President Trump’s Gaza peace plan, urging Hamas to endorse the proposal. At the same time, he issued a warning against violence as a Gaza aid flotilla nears Israel.
During a public appearance at St. Peter’s Square on September 28, 2025, Pope Leo XIV addressed the crowd from the popemobile following a Holy Mass for the Jubilee of Catechists held at the Vatican.
