Indore (Madhya Pradesh): The two-day prestigious National Lata Mangeshkar Award Ceremony and music evening commenced here on Saturday, featuring performances by local artistes on the opening day.
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav is scheduled to present the National Lata Mangeshkar Award to renowned music directors Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy and famous singer Sonu Nigam on Sunday. The event is organized by the Culture Department in collaboration with the district administration and is being held at the Lata Mangeshkar Auditorium in VIP Paraspar Nagar.
According to reports, the programme will be presided over by Dharmendra Singh Lodhi, Minister of Culture, Tourism, Religious Trusts, and Endowments Department.
On Sunday, the celebrated musical trio Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy from Mumbai will be honored with the National Lata Mangeshkar Award for the year 2024. In addition, the renowned playback singer Sonu Nigam will receive the award for 2025.
Following the award ceremony, a musical evening will be held, where playback singer Ankit Tiwari and his team are set to perform a soulful concert for the audience.
The first day of the ceremony also featured the Lata Mangeshkar Light Music State Level Competition, held on Saturday, showcasing the talents of various local participants.
