**RTO Conducts Vehicle Fitness Inspection at Schools and College in Indore**

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): In a continued effort to strengthen road safety and ensure compliance with transport laws, the Regional Transport Office (RTO) team conducted inspections at two schools and one college near Bypass Road on Friday. The exercise was part of the ongoing special drive running statewide since September 22.

Led by Regional Transport Officer Pradeep Kumar Sharma, along with ARTO Archana Mishra, ARTO Rajesh Gupta, and other RTO staff, the team checked the fitness of vehicles operating in these educational institutions. During the inspection, several violations were uncovered, leading to immediate action and fines totaling Rs 40,000.

**Violations Found at Schools**

Six school vehicles were found violating essential safety norms. Issues identified included jammed emergency exits, non-functional fire extinguishers, poorly maintained first-aid kits, damaged floor areas, and general lack of proper maintenance. Consequently, the fitness certificates of these vehicles were promptly cancelled.

Additionally, four buses operating without valid permits were seized on the spot.

On a positive note, the bus service of one school was found to be fully compliant with all rules, and the school management received appreciation from the inspection team for their adherence to regulations.

**College Premises Vehicles in Poor Condition**

At the college, the inspection revealed 12 buses abandoned in poor condition within the premises. The college management was instructed to cancel the registrations of these vehicles to prevent their further use.

**Feedback and Directives**

The team also engaged with students to gather feedback during the inspection process.

All schools and educational institutions have been directed to ensure that only fully fit vehicles with valid documents are operated henceforth, to guarantee the safety of students and comply with transport regulations.

The RTO remains committed to enforcing transport laws strictly and promoting road safety across Madhya Pradesh.
