In place of a conventional fast travel mechanic, the game offers a few alternatives to help you get around more efficiently.

While Castor Woods is a large location, it’s not so vast that you can’t realistically run to almost anywhere within two or three minutes. You will need to navigate around zombies and avoid combat encounters to do so, but during my playthrough, nothing ever felt too far away.

A newer addition to the series is the introduction of vehicles. The green Park Ranger and black Baron trucks serve exactly the purpose you’d expect—they allow you to travel faster from place to place.
When driving, it’s best to stick to roads and major thoroughfares, and try to avoid taking too much damage to your vehicle. As long as you have a relatively straight path to your destination, driving will almost always be faster than running.
That said, if you’re venturing deep into the wilds of Castor Woods, hoofing it on foot might still be your best bet.

Unlocking the Dash Skill can also significantly boost your running speed. While it does consume stamina, mastering dodging zombie lunges and managing your stamina bar effectively can cut your travel time between points by around 20%.
