One of the best quality-of-life features in any open-world game is fast travel—the ability to instantly teleport across vast expanses at the touch of a button. Given that *Dying Light: The Beast* has a large enough map, a fast travel system would certainly be a welcome mechanic. But does the game actually have one?
### Does *Dying Light: The Beast* Have Fast Travel?
Strictly speaking, the answer is no. There is no traditional fast travel system in *Dying Light: The Beast*. You cannot click on any location on the map and instantly teleport there—not Safe Zones, not cleared objectives, nothing.
### Alternatives to Fast Travel in *Dying Light: The Beast*
In place of a conventional fast travel mechanic, the game offers a few alternatives to help you get around more efficiently.
#### 1. Manageable Map Size
While Castor Woods is a large location, it’s not so vast that you can’t realistically run to almost anywhere within two or three minutes. You will need to navigate around zombies and avoid combat encounters to do so, but during my playthrough, nothing ever felt too far away.
#### 2. Vehicles
A newer addition to the series is the introduction of vehicles. The green Park Ranger and black Baron trucks serve exactly the purpose you’d expect—they allow you to travel faster from place to place.
When driving, it’s best to stick to roads and major thoroughfares, and try to avoid taking too much damage to your vehicle. As long as you have a relatively straight path to your destination, driving will almost always be faster than running.
That said, if you’re venturing deep into the wilds of Castor Woods, hoofing it on foot might still be your best bet.
#### 3. The Dash Skill
Unlocking the Dash Skill can also significantly boost your running speed. While it does consume stamina, mastering dodging zombie lunges and managing your stamina bar effectively can cut your travel time between points by around 20%.
### Final Thoughts
While *Dying Light: The Beast* might not offer fast travel in the traditional sense, it provides several other ways to move quickly across its world—just not instantaneously. Whether running, driving, or dashing, you have options to make traversal more efficient without breaking the immersive experience of the game.
