How to Open Weapons Cache Safes in Battlefield 6 REDSEC
As you explore the map in Battlefield 6 REDSEC, you might come across locked yellow safes with no obvious way to access the goodies inside. Thankfully, opening these safes—actually weapons caches—is a simple process, and the rewards for doing so are well worth the minimal effort. Here’s how to do it.
Step 1: Accept a Weapons Cache Mission
To open the locked yellow safes, you first need to complete a Weapons Cache mission. These missions only appear in areas where weapons caches are available. Completing them usually takes about 30 seconds, provided you avoid getting into a fight.
When you receive a new mission notification, check if the Weapons Cache mission is available. If it is and you like the rewards, select it on the mission screen to start.
Step 2: Find the Bolt Cutters
Your first task is to find a set of bolt cutters. This item will be marked on your HUD and exists as an in-world object you need to pick up. Head over to the bolt cutters and interact with them to temporarily add them to your inventory.
Step 3: Break Into the Weapons Cache
The weapons cache will be marked on your HUD immediately after picking up the bolt cutters, with the words “Break In” displayed above the icon. Approach the yellow safe and hold down the interact button to use the bolt cutters to break in.
As you hold the button, a progress meter will fill up. Once it completes, the cache will open, allowing you to collect your reward.
The Rewards
Rewards consist of whatever was listed on the mission screen, along with a healthy selection of green-rarity weapons and, likely, an Intel Supply briefcase. These rewards are especially valuable in the early phases of a match when equipment is scarce.
The later you get into a round, the less valuable weapons caches become. At that point, you would be better served by going for a loadout drop when they’re available.
