Imprisoned music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs and his legal team are currently exploring their options regarding allegedly stolen footage featured in Netflix’s explosive docuseries, *Sean Combs: The Reckoning*, RadarOnline.com can reveal.

The four-part series includes behind-the-scenes video showing Combs, 56, engaged in private conversations in his hotel room during the days leading up to his arrest in September 2024. He was charged with sex trafficking, racketeering, and other related offenses.

### ‘Pondering’ Legal Options

“Sean Combs and his team are still pondering their legal options over the Netflix docuseries and the stolen footage,” Combs’ spokesperson told Deadline on Tuesday, December 30.

The Bad Boy Records founder had originally hired a photographer to document his final six days of freedom. The footage includes phone calls with his defense attorney, Marc Agnifilo, where they discussed legal and public relations strategies. This intimate video was featured prominently in *The Reckoning*, which counted Combs’ longtime rival Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson as an executive producer.

Since its debut on December 2, the docuseries has become a major hit for Netflix.

### Cease-and-Desist Letter Sent to Netflix

The day before *The Reckoning* was released, Combs and his legal team sent Netflix a cease-and-desist letter to try to block the deeply personal footage from being shown.

The letter stated:
*”As you are undoubtedly aware, Mr. Combs has not hesitated to take legal action against media entities and others who violate his rights, and he will not hesitate to do so against Netflix.”*

It also criticized Netflix for working with “a longtime adversary with a personal vendetta who has spent too much time slandering Mr. Combs,” referring to Jackson, 50, who had publicly mocked Combs during his arrest and trial.

Combs and his team described the footage as “stolen” and “never authorized for release,” calling the series a “shameful hit piece” in a statement to CNN.

“Sean was making his own documentary since he was 19 years old. This footage was commissioned as part of it,” Combs’ spokeswoman Juda Engelmayer told CNN on December 1.

### Director Defends Use of Footage

Alexandra Stapleton, director of the docuseries, defended the legal use of the footage. She stated:

*”It came to us. We obtained the footage legally and have the necessary rights.”*
*”We moved heaven and earth to keep the filmmaker’s identity confidential. One thing about Sean Combs is that he’s always filming himself, and it’s been an obsession throughout the decades.”*

Stapleton also revealed they reached out multiple times to Combs’ legal team for interviews and comments but received no response.

### 50 Cent Reacts

Reflecting on the footage, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson told GQ:
*”To be honest, I don’t know why somebody would want to do that. When I saw it was like, ‘Oh, s—. Wow.'”*

### Current Legal Situation

Combs is currently battling legal issues related to the allegedly “stolen” videos while incarcerated at New Jersey’s FCI Fort Dix. He is serving a 50-month federal prison sentence after being convicted on two prostitution-related charges in July. These charges stemmed from his history of drug and alcohol-fueled “freak-offs.”

Notably, a jury acquitted him of the more serious charges of racketeering and sex trafficking.
