**David Remnick’s Absurd Reaction to the Fake Epstein Letter Illustrates The New Yorker’s Decline**

Few things better illustrate the steep decline in the quality of writing at *The New Yorker* under editor David Remnick than his absurd reaction to the revelation that a letter, purportedly written by Jeffrey Epstein to convicted serial sex offender Larry Nassar and implicating President Donald Trump, has been determined to be fake.
On Tuesday, Remnick demonstrated how deeply his obsession with his so-called “Orange Whale” has overwhelmed him, causing him to lose whatever sense of rationality he might have retained. This is evident in his piece titled *“Trump, Epstein, and the Women.”*
For the first several paragraphs, the furious Remnick hurled charge after charge against Trump before finally addressing the supposedly damning Epstein letter to Nassar.
