Vanderbilt’s Diego Pavia seen partying with ‘F**k Indiana’ sign after losing Heisman to Fernando Mendoza

He was named a Heisman Trophy finalist but ultimately came in second place. In a moment that caught attention, he was seen holding a sign that read “F**k Indiana,” while turning toward the camera and displaying his middle finger.

This player was one of ten different athletes to receive first-place votes for the Heisman Trophy, alongside other finalists such as Mendoza, Julian Sayin, and Jeremiyah Love. He led the way in second-place votes, finishing with 1,435 points. This was significantly higher than the 719 points earned by third-place finisher Love, but still well behind the winner.

Mendoza secured 643 first-place votes and finished with a total of 2,361 voting points to claim the Heisman Trophy. His team boasts a perfect 13-0 record, won the Big Ten championship, and currently holds the top spot in the College Football Playoff.

Meanwhile, the Vanderbilt quarterback, who worked his way up from playing junior college football to competing at New Mexico State before arriving at Vanderbilt, has had a remarkable season. Vanderbilt is enjoying the best season in its history, finishing 10-2, although they were notably left out of the College Football Playoff.

In addition to Mendoza’s Heisman, he also took home several other prestigious awards, including the Maxwell, Walter Camp, and Davey O’Brien Awards. The Vanderbilt quarterback can also proudly point to his tight end, Eli Stowers, who won the John Mackey Award as the nation’s best tight end.
