We write all the time about the cats after they’re rescued, but what about the actual process of saving them? Sometimes, the cats are domesticated, and they come right up to you. Other times, they’re feral or frightened, and then you run the risk of them escaping before you can bring them to safety. This is never more apparent than when the scared stray is near a busy road, or worse, a highway. These are the most dangerous and difficult rescues. You normally only get one shot, and if you miss it. well, we don’t like to think about what happens if you miss. In the video, the animal rescue volunteers carefully surround the poor kitty, who was tied to a rope and hiding at the edge of a highway filled with speeding cars. They approached slowly, patiently, and calmly. One was able to grab the rope, which, at the very least, would prevent the cat from escaping. They finally got the cat into a carrier, and is now safely in their care. The cat was clearly someone’s pet once, so all we can hope for is that someone will find it in their hearts to take this floofy feline into their homes.
