After losing over 200 pounds and shaving his well-known beard, Jelly Roll is showing off his new look. The country music star, who recently received three nominations at the upcoming 2026 Grammys, gave fans another peek at his transformation by sharing a new selfie to Instagram. “AI is getting crazy these days,” Jelly Roll captioned his selfie on Nov. 25. And he had no shortage of encouraging comments from his family, friends, and fans. “Healthy and Happy bubs!!!” his lead guitarist Jack Fowler wrote. “There you go a brand new jelly roll looking great, my brother I am proud of you for what you have done with your life🥂🥂🥂🥂,” commented singer-songwriter Sammy Hager. “ABSOLUTE DAWGGG🔥🔥” singer Bailey Zimmerman commented. “YOU LOOK AMAZING ❤️❤️❤️❤️” the band Shinedown wrote. The 40-year-old made his “long overdue” return to YouTube on Nov. 20 with a 15-minute vlog titled “How I REALLY Feel About The Grammys.” Fans were shocked to discover that he ended his video by shaving his beard that he kept for over a decade. “At this point, I’m sure some of y’all are exhausted about hearing about my weight loss. But a lot of things change when you start losing weight. You realize things. One of the things I realized is I don’t know what I look like. I’ve had a beard to try to cover up my double chin,” he said. Before debuting his new look to the viewers, Jelly Roll surprised his wife, Bunnie XO, and his daughter, Bailee Ann, who told her dad, “I don’t like this! You look like a turtle.” “By now, you have probably figured out that I look like a Ninja Turtle,” the “Need A Favor” singer jokingly agreed while finally revealing his face to the camera. “You know, one of the reasons I’d even started growing a beard was because I was so obese, it was just easier to cover up what was happening here,” he went on to say. Before his weight loss journey started, Jelly Roll used to weigh more than 500 pounds. In April, he proudly shared on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” his inspiration behind losing over 200 pounds. “So my goal, I want to skydive, I want to ride a roller coaster, I want to ride a bull,” he listed. “I know it sounds crazy. I want to wrestle an alligator. I got a list of things that I want to do.” The singer has continued to keep fans up to date on his progress, and explained in 2024 on Bunnie XO’s “Dumb Blonde” podcast the reason behind his transparency. “What I want the world to know and what I want the people to see, Bunnie, is that I didn’t become successful because of my weight,” he said. “I became successful in spite of it. I somehow managed to be this successful with carrying 550 pounds. That’s insane.”.
