Lana Adams made it official on Wednesday, Nov. 12, inking her National Letter of Intent to the University of Missouri-Columbia to join the Tigers women’s soccer team out of St. Vincent High School and the Class of 2026. Adams joins four other signees to the Tigers’ program, part of the Southeastern Conference, one of the toughest women’s soccer conferences in the country. The senior Indian attacking midfielder had a legendary prep season this past spring, scoring 53 goals and leading St. Vincent back into the state championship game for the first time in over a half-decade, a long stretch for a program of great legacy. Crossing the 50-goal mark was no small feat, and no less after Adams accomplished it in the state quarterfinals on June 1, 2025. Her prep coach, Cari Barnes, had some high praise for the then-junior’s outstanding presence both on and off the pitch. “She digs deep, and she brings everybody else around her up,” Barnes said of Adams. “We’re just very lucky to have her.” Adams is headed to a Tiger program that’s currently 4-10-3 and hasn’t had a winning record since the 2020 season, just 6-5-3 then. Yet, she chose the Tigers, who found the Lou Fusz club product and recruited her early into her career. Having committed to Missouri back in September 2024, the Nov. 12 signing felt like a formality for the outstanding scorer who’s been nothing but faithful to the Tigers since the start of her junior season. “The first time I stepped on campus, it just felt like home,” Adams said. “The coaching staff made it feel like a family environment, which is what I’ve had the past several years in club and high school soccer.” Tigers head coach Stefanie Golan, who’s five seasons into her tenure with the program, had some strong remarks about the signing in the university’s press release on National Signing Day. “Lana is one of the most competitive individuals we encountered in the recruiting process,” Golan said. “She does whatever it takes to influence winning. She finds pockets of space well, is strong on the ball, and consistently creates and finishes chances. We are thrilled to have her join us in Black & Gold.” Adams, a multi-sport athlete, has already begun her senior girls basketball season. She’s part of an Indian hoops team that ventured to the program’s first final four and a state title game last season, and recently promoted to Class 3, those girls look primed to return to that stage this year. St. Vincent girls soccer returns for Adams’s senior season on March 20, 2026, as part of the Bluefish Soccer Invitational in Rolla, a two-day event. The Indians seem to have high expectations for this season, with a strong returning class and an inside shot at a state championship.
