Fox Broadcast Brutalizes Vikings’ Week 12 Performance

The Vikings put up another stinker in Week 12 against the Green Bay Packers. The game saw young QB J. J. McCarthy have potentially the worst game of his already dreadful first season of NFL action. McCarthy completed only 12 of 19 passes for 87 yards. He had zero touchdowns in the contest, but did offer two interceptions to the Packers’ defense. His longest pass was for 19 yards, and he was sacked 5 times. The Vikings running game thankfully did show signs of life. They ran the ball 20 times for 93 yards, a 4. 7 yard average per carry. Jordan Mason led the way with 42 yards on 8 carries, followed by Aaron Jones with 41 yards on 9 carries. The defense kept the Vikings in the game for as long as they could, similar to last week in their loss to the Chicago Bears. These bright spots weren’t enough to win over the Fox broadcasting booth during the game on Sunday, however. Vikings Get Brutalized by Joe Davis and Greg Olsen Sports Illustrated‘s Adam Uren laid out the details. Uren went on to detail more of former Carolina Panthers and Chicago Bears tight end Greg Olsen: Minnesota’s Future Vulnerabilities Find National Attention If you’re a fan of the Minnesota Vikings, Greg Olsen didn’t say anything you probably didn’t already know. These Vikings have a very murky future ahead of them, especially as long as J. J. McCarthy continues to show no true signs of progression. As it stands, the Vikings are roughly $37 million over the cap, per OverTheCap. Their plan to roll with McCarthy instead of giving Sam Darnold a pay day seems to be backfiring. Even though they’re saving money on quarterback right now, they’re paying for it on the field. With Sam Darnold, or a number of other quarterbacks, the Vikings would likely be in a position to punch a ticket into the NFL Playoffs in a couple months. Instead, their season feels pretty much over and they have a young signal caller that simply isn’t progressing bearing the weight of the entire organization.
