Triple H Accused of Disrespecting John Cena by WWE Veteran Vince Russo
Triple H, WWE’s Chief Content Officer, has recently come under fire for his booking decisions, and he faced criticism once again following the latest episode of RAW. The Game opened the show by introducing John Cena in front of his hometown crowd in Boston for what was billed as Cena’s final appearance there. However, the moment quickly took an unexpected turn.
As Cena addressed the fans, he was abruptly interrupted by Dominik Mysterio, leading to a tense back-and-forth between the two stars. Throughout this entire segment, Triple H remained in the ring—a decision that did not sit well with many fans and industry insiders.
Former WWE writer Vince Russo voiced his disapproval on his show, *Vince Russo’s The Brand*. Russo questioned why Triple H stayed in the ring during such a pivotal and emotional moment, emphasizing that it would have been more respectful to step aside.
“When you know that moment comes when you need to give up the ring for whoever else is in there with you. This is like at the very pinnacle of when you need to step your big nose a** out of the freaking ring,” Russo stated.
He elaborated on the importance of knowing when to exit gracefully: “Like when you know, ‘Okay, bro. It is time for me to exit because it is time for him to get his moment’. That’s a respect thing. I don’t think people understand that.”
Russo further suggested that it would have been more fitting if Cena’s father had introduced him instead of Triple H, as that choice could have helped capture the emotional weight of the occasion.
In addition to these remarks, Vince Russo publicly called out Triple H on X (formerly Twitter), labeling him an egomaniac. “You seriously have to start asking yourself this question: Has there EVER been a BIGGER EGOMANIAC in the History of the Business than @TripleH?!!! I’ll Wait,” Russo wrote.
The 14-time WWE World Champion has faced ongoing scrutiny for his booking style and has repeatedly been criticized for placing himself at the center of the spotlight, sometimes to the detriment of other talent.
