Valve has announced the Steam Frame, a new wireless VR headset designed to stream any game from a player’s Steam library—whether VR or non-VR. This innovative device is set to launch in early 2026 alongside updated versions of the Steam Machine and Steam Controller.
The Steam Frame store page is live now, showcasing the headset’s various use cases and technical specifications. Valve compares the Steam Frame to the Steam Deck, describing it as a fully-fledged PC that offers a unique way to enjoy a wide range of video games.
Powered by a Snapdragon processor and running SteamOS, the Steam Frame supports both standalone gaming and game streaming. Valve highlights that the device can stream VR and non-VR titles seamlessly, broadening the gaming experience for users.
To help players identify compatible games, Valve is introducing Steam Frame Verification, which functions similarly to Steam Deck Verification. This feature ensures that users can easily find titles optimized for the new headset.
The Steam Frame will be available in all regions where the Steam Deck is currently sold. Interested gamers can add the device to their wishlist now ahead of its official release early next year, alongside the new Steam Machine and Steam Controller.
