The next Mass Effect game—presumably Mass Effect 5, though still untitled—was first announced in 2020. However, BioWare hadn’t had the best run leading up to that announcement, and the situation has not improved much since then.
Nonetheless, BioWare and Electronic Arts made sure not to let N7 Day pass without addressing the status of the game. The next Mass Effect title is still in development, and both companies remain committed to its eventual release.
On N7 Day 2025, BioWare published a blog post updating fans about the game’s progress. The developers reassured the community that the project is actively being worked on and remains a priority.
If the wording in the blog post is any indication, we likely won’t see significant news about the game for some time. However, fans can expect new Mass Effect-related content in other forms, including merchandise and crossover events featuring other EA intellectual properties.
