15 Movies That Have No Right Being As Good As They Are

After seeing a recent post about Dungeons & Dragons (D&D) on this subreddit, I decided to watch the film—and I loved it! It’s so well done, features a great cast, is genuinely funny, and never once becomes boring. I remember scoffing at the trailer when it first came out, convinced it was going to be dumb. I was wrong!

You have a franchise where the first film is amazing and fresh, even winning an Oscar. The second film is arguably even better. However, the third and fourth films don’t measure up as well in comparison. Then, a spin-off comes out that’s so “meh” people start saying the franchise should end. Some even suggest rebooting the fifth film completely. Instead, they release a sequel to the spin-off called *Puss in Boots: The Last Wish,* which arguably becomes the best one in the entire franchise.

I remember thinking the spin-off was super unnecessary at the time, but it actually gave us a fantastic trilogy.

When I saw the movie in the theatre, the crowd was getting a bit rowdy and bored. But then, when Ceased shouted “Nooo!,” the entire theatre fell completely silent—no one made another sound for the rest of the film. I’ve never experienced anything like that in any other movie before or since.

I had no idea what I was about to watch and was completely surprised by how amazing it was. I hadn’t seen any trailers or promotional ads beforehand. Now, it’s in my top 10 favorite movies of all time. I even bought the books immediately after and fell in love with those too.
