VIDEO PREMIERE: Ana Popović Brings The Guitar To The Floor On Groove-Laced “Dance to the Rhythm”

Following a period of personal and creative uncertainty, Popović returns with a record that celebrates joy, perseverance, and freedom through music. Known primarily for her fiery blues guitar work, Popović takes a bold step into funk, soul, gospel, and R&B on *Dance to the Rhythm*. The album lives up to its title—every song is designed to move both the body and the spirit.

“I wanted to make guitar music you can dance to,” she’s said, a mission that guides the record’s lively grooves and colorful arrangements. Produced alongside longtime collaborator Buthel “Corey LaDell” Burns, the album is packed with warm horn sections, gospel harmonies, and deep rhythmic interplay, all while leaving room for Popović’s trademark guitar tone to shine.

Her signature Fender “Foggy” Stratocaster helps shape the record’s modern, groove-oriented sound—a proof that her chops are as sharp and soulful as ever.

The title track, “Dance to the Rhythm,” opens with contagious energy, setting the tone for an album rooted in movement and positivity. Songs like “Worked Up” and “Sho’ Nuf” keep the momentum going with big, funky beats built for live stages.

Popović’s inventive cover of Paul Simon’s “50 Ways to Leave Your Lover” gives the classic a makeover of Latin flair, jazz finesse, and gospel fire, reimagining it as something wholly her own.

Glide is premiering the video for the thumpin’ title track, showcasing the talented guitarist in a new pop light—where her bluesy origins melt effortlessly into some good-time soul.

“When we made this record, we were overflowing with joy; we were dancing. *Dance to the Rhythm* is a celebration of life itself—a reminder to move to whatever beat life gives you. Dance is part of who we are, yet dance songs rarely feature the lead guitar. I wanted to change that, to bring the guitar to the floor and let the rhythm move in a new way,” says Popović.
