This 1940 Mercury Eight two-door Sedan-Coupe is said to have been sold new in California and was owned by a US military officer in the 1970s. During their stewardship, the car was relocated to Guam in 1978 and Japan in 1981. The car won second place at the 3rd annual Camp Zama Independence Day car show in Japan, and it was returned to the US after 1995. The seller’s late father purchased the car in 2005. It has received a repaint in black and a refresh of the interior, and is powered by a 239ci flathead V8 linked to a three-speed manual transmission and a Columbia two-speed rear axle.
