We often write about cats after they’ve been rescued, but what about the actual process of saving them?
Sometimes, the cats are domesticated and come right up to you. Other times, they’re feral or frightened, and you run the risk of them escaping before you can bring them to safety. This risk is never more apparent than when a scared stray is near a busy road—or worse, a highway. These are the most dangerous and difficult rescues.
Usually, you only get one chance, and if you miss it… well, we don’t like to think about what happens then.
In the video below, animal rescue volunteers carefully surround a poor kitty who was tied to a rope and hiding at the edge of a highway filled with speeding cars. They approach slowly, patiently, and calmly.
One rescuer was able to grab the rope, which at the very least prevented the cat from escaping. Finally, they got the cat into a carrier, and it is now safely in their care.
The cat was clearly someone’s pet once, so all we can hope for is that someone will find it in their hearts to welcome this floofy feline into their home.
