Hearthstone: Across the Timeways – 10 decks to try on Day 1

With the year rapidly coming to a close, it’s time for one more Hearthstone expansion for 2025. The Year of the Raptor takes a stroll through the ages with *Hearthstone: Across the Timeways*, a set that’s all about messing with the fabric of time.

The latest expansion adds 145 cards across all 11 of the game’s classes and features some new mechanics, including the intriguing new **Rewind** keyword. Across the Timeways is set to arrive today, which means it’s time again to take a look at some decks from Hearthstone’s most recognizable pros and streamers.

Shacknews had a chance to play against some of these decks during the recent Hearthstone Theorycrafting session. While I didn’t have a lot of success, I had a lot of fun and was able to pick up some valuable intel on this new set.

Let’s check out some deck ideas to help you get through the first day of this new expansion. Without further delay, here are some decks worth trying out on day one of *Across the Timeways*.

### Clark Hellscream’s Location Druid

– 2x Construct Pylons (0)
– 2x Innervate (0)
– 2x Waveshaping (1)
– 2x Reforestation (2)
– 2x Story of Barnabus (2)
– 2x Contingency (3)
– 2x New Heights (3)
– 2x Swipe (3)
– 1x Elise the Navigator (4)
– 1x The Well of Eternity (4)
– 1x Zin-Azshari (4)
– 2x Chrono Boost (5)
– 1x Lady Azshara (5)
– 2x Scrapbooking Student (5)
– 2x Soldier of the Bronze (5)
– 1x Evergreen Stag (6)
– 1x Final Frontier (7)
– 1x Artanis (8)
– 1x Zilliax Deluxe (9)
– 1x Twin Module (4)
– 1x Perfect Module (5)

This Druid deck sneaks up on players if they’re not careful. I discovered this firsthand when playing as a Patron player against Clark’s deck. I underestimated the power of the buffed-up Zin-Azshari location, which can double a minion’s stats in a single turn. This includes Protoss minions with Charge, making for potentially devastating damage.

Once your Zin-Azshari is powered up, making a copy with Scrapbooking Student can put you in a prime spot for an unexpected one-turn kill. Trust me, your opponent won’t always see it coming—I certainly didn’t!

### Warshack’s Midrange Hunter

– 2x Quel’dorei Fletcher (1)
– 2x Slumbering Sprite (1)
– 2x Wound Prey (1)
– 2x Jungle Gym (2)
– 2x Patchwork Pals (2)
– 2x Remote Control (2)
– 2x Untimely Death (2)
– 1x Portal Vanguard (3)
– 1x Ranger General Sylvanas (3)
– 1x Ranger Captain Alleria (3)
– 1x Ranger Initiate Vereesa (3)
– 2x Wormhole (3)
– 2x Nightmare Lord Xavius (4)
– 2x Past Silvermoon (4)
– 2x R.C. Rampage (4)
– 2x Devious Coyote (5)
– 2x Ankylodon (6)

Hunter is no longer just about aggro; it now has strong midrange tools. Cards like Ankylodon and Devious Coyote, when paired with the new **Untimely Death** secret, can repeatedly return to the board after removal.

The Windrunners mechanics grow stronger the more you play, so be sure to seek out these cards quickly with tools like Portal Vanguard for maximum effect.

### Christian’s Dragon Warrior

– 2x Darkrider (1)
– 2x Giftwrapped Whelp (1)
– 2x Petal Peddler (2)
– 2x Precursory Strike (2)
– 2x Quality Assurance (2)
– 2x Shadowflame Suffusion (2)
– 1x Shield Block (2)
– 2x Portal Vanguard (3)
– 1x Timelord Nozdormu (3)
– 1x Nightmare Lord Xavius (4)
– 1x Stadium Announcer (4)
– 2x Ancient of Yore (5)
– 2x Chemical Spill (5)
– 1x For Glory! (5)
– 2x Heir of Hereafter (5)
– 1x Chrono-Lord Epoch (6)
– 1x Lo’Gosh, Blood Fighter (7)
– 1x Broll, Blood Fighter (7)
– 1x Valeera, Blood Fighter (7)
– 1x Tortolla (10)

Christian’s Dragon Warrior relies heavily on fabled legendaries, which require reaching 7 mana—tricky in an aggro meta. Thankfully, control tools and lower-cost Dragons help keep this deck in the game until Lo’Gosh, Broll, and Valeera arrive.

These legendaries hit hard and their Deathrattles summon buffed versions of each other, making removal difficult. Alternatively, playing **Chemical Spill** on Turn 5 can accelerate your game plan.

The star card here is **Chrono-Lord Epoch**, which can erase opponent minions played last turn—often a devastating play that can completely swing the match.

### Brigitteous’ Nature Shaman

– 2x Static Shock (0)
– 1x Lightning Bolt (1)
– 2x Lightning Rod (1)
– 2x Flux Revenant (2)
– 2x Primordial Overseer (2)
– 2x Thunderquake (2)
– 2x Far Sight (3)
– 2x Hex (3)
– 2x Nascent Bolt (3)
– 1x Portal Vanguard (3)
– 1x Timelord Nozdormu (3)
– 1x Farseer Wo (4)
– 1x Nightmare Lord Xavius (4)
– 1x Muradin, High King (5)
– 1x High King’s Hammer (6)
– 1x Avatar Form (3)
– 2x Stormrook (5)
– 2x Instant Multiverse (6)
– 1x Krag’wa, the Frog (6)

Shaman’s new approach uses Nature spells that can affect both opponents and its own minions. Cards like **Flux Revenant** and **Stormrook** benefit greatly from taking Nature spell damage, turning self-harm into a strategic advantage.

**Krag’wa the Frog** adds synergy by returning Nature spells to your hand, allowing repeated use. The new fabled legendary, **Muradin, High King**, grows stronger quickly and threatens to overwhelm opponents, especially with his powerful weapon that strengthens with each use.

### Nohandsgamer’s Dragon OTK Mage

– 2x Go with the Flow (1)
– 2x Mirror Dimension (1)
– 2x Primordial Glyph (2)
– 2x Arcane Barrage (3)
– 2x Arcane Intellect (3)
– 2x Buy One, Get One Free (3)
– 2x Portal Vanguard (3)
– 2x Rising Waves (3)
– 2x Storage Scuffle (3)
– 2x Tide Pools (3)
– 2x Watercolor Artist (3)
– 1x Alter Time (4)
– 1x Nightmare Lord Xavius (4)
– 2x Pocket Dimension (4)
– 1x Azure Queen Sindragosa (5)
– 1x Azure King Malygos (5)
– 1x Azure Oathstone (8)

This Mage deck has only a few Dragons, but those included are key for the one-turn kill combo.

The goal is to draw **Buy One, Get One Free** using **Watercolor Artist** to discount it to zero, enabling players to create multiple copies of **Malygos**. With this setup, Arcane spells in hand can deal massive burst damage.

Though the combo can be disrupted if BOGO spells are drawn naturally, pulling off this discount combo can lead to explosive turns. The challenge is surviving the aggro-heavy meta long enough to execute it.

### Trump’s Handbuff Priest

– 2x Overzealous Healer (1)
– 2x Paltry Flutterwing (1)
– 2x Amber Priestess (2)
– 2x Lunarwing Messenger (2)
– 2x Papercraft Angel (2)
– 2x Power Word: Barrier (2)
– 2x Spirit of the Kaldorei (2)
– 1x Archalos (3)
– 2x Disciple of the Dove (3)
– 2x Kaldorei Priestess (3)
– 2x Cleansing Lightspawn (4)
– 2x Flutterwing Guardian (4)
– 1x Soldier of the Bronze (5)
– 1x Eternus (6)
– 1x Zilliax Deluxe (8)
– 1x Malorne the Waywatcher (?)

Trump’s Priest opts for a handbuff-focused strategy instead of the Medivh-heavy builds seen during theorycrafting.

Cards like **Power Word: Barrier**, **Disciple of the Dove**, and **Divine Augur** help significantly buff minions in hand before they hit the board. Additionally, Priest’s imbue tools provide further versatility.

If your handbuff doesn’t pan out, the Priest’s classic tools ensure you aren’t left defenseless.

### Warshack’s Combo Rogue

– 2x Preparation (0)
– 2x Shadowstep (0)
– 2x Deja Vu (1)
– 2x Dig for Treasure (1)
– 2x Shapeshifter (1)
– 1x Oh, Manager! (2)
– 2x The Kingslayers (2)
– 1x Chrono Daggers (3)
– 2x King Liane (3)
– 2x Metal Detector (3)
– 2x Dubious Purchase (4)
– 1x Fast Forward (4)
– 1x Garona Halforcen (4)
– 2x Sonya Waterdancer (4)
– 2x Time Skipper (4)
– 1x Sandbox Scoundrel (5)
– 1x Chrono-Lord Deios (7)
– 1x Incindius (7)

This meme combo Rogue requires many working parts to succeed.

If you manage to play **Chrono-Lord Deios**, a mini **Sandbox Scoundrel**, **Sonya Waterdancer**, and another mini Sandbox Scoundrel, Incindius’ cost is reduced to (1). Sonya will copy Incindius, and with Chrono-Lord Deios in play, Incindius’ Battlecry and End of Turn effects trigger twice.

If you survive until then, explosive combos are guaranteed. Just be cautious of lethal from your opponent’s turn!

### Kris O’ Five’s Bwonsamdi Death Knight

– 2x Morbid Swarm (1)
– 2x Orbital Moon (1)
– 2x Brittlebone Buccaneer (2)
– 2x Dreadhound Handler (2)
– 2x Blood Draw (3)
– 2x Chillfallen Baron (3)
– 2x Liferender (3)
– 1x Staff of the Endbringer (3)
– 1x What Befell Zandalar (3)
– 2x Husk, Eternal Reaper (4)
– 1x Memoriam Manifest (4)
– 2x Nightmare Lord Xavius (4)
– 1x Sanguine Infestation (4)
– 2x Talanji of the Graves (5)
– 2x Ancient of Yore (5)
– 1x Carnivorous Cubicle (5)
– 1x Corpse Explosion (6)
– 1x Bwonsamdi (7)
– 1x Endbringer Umbra (?)

Bwonsamdi is a gift that keeps on giving, especially if you build a deck to bring him back repeatedly with **Memoriam Manifest**.

Avoid packing undead minions more expensive than Bwonsamdi to maximize his resurrection potential. **Carnivorous Cube** can also help keep Bwonsamdi cycling.

With enough Bwonsamdis, **Endbringer Umbra** can trigger multiple Deathrattles, flooding the board with powerful minions swiftly.

### Zeddy’s Spell Demon Hunter

– 1x First Portal to Argus (0)
– 2x Illidari Studies (1)
– 2x Time-Lost Glaive (1)
– 1x Blind Box (2)
– 2x Broxigar (2)
– 2x Chaos Strike (2)
– 2x Grim Harvest (2)
– 2x Infestation (2)
– 1x Solitude (2)
– 1x Axe of Cenarius (3)
– 2x Infiltrate (3)
– 2x Insect Claw (3)
– 2x Lasting Legacy (3)
– 2x Paraglide (3)
– 2x Wyvern’s Slumber (3)
– 1x Hounds of Fury (4)
– 1x The Eternal Hold (6)

Zeddy has turned things around on Demon Hunter with this spell-focused deck.

The key is activating **Portals to Argus** and killing the summoned demons to bring out a 12/12 Charge-fueled **Broxigar**.

Rather than minions, this deck focuses on spells and weapons, with cards like **Blind Box** and **Time-Lost Glaive** to find minions and buffs like **Solitude** to strengthen them.

All of this feeds into **The Eternal Hold**, allowing players to discover a free high-cost Demon.

### Ozzie’s Rafaam Warlock

– 2x Paltry Flutterwing (1)
– 2x Rotheart Dryad (1)
– 2x Prize Vendor (2)
– 2x Circadiamancer (3)
– 2x Overplanner (3)
– 1x Portal Vanguard (3)
– 2x Timelord Nozdormu (3)
– 2x Whelp of the Infinite (4)
– 1x Domino Effect (4)
– 1x Elise the Navigator (4)
– 2x Griftah, Trusted Vendor (4)
– 1x Hourglass Attendant (4)
– 2x Nightmare Lord Xavius (4)
– 2x RAFAAM LADDER!! (5)
– 2x Ancient of Yore (6)
– 2x Zaqali Flamemancer (10)
– 1x Table Flip (10)
– 1x Timethief Rafaam (1)
– 1x Tiny Rafaam (2)
– 1x Green Rafaam (4)
– 1x Explorer Rafaam (5)
– 1x Warchief Rafaam (7)
– 1x Mindflayer R’faam (6)
– 1x Calamitous Rafaam (8)
– 1x Giant Rafaam (3)
– 1x Murloc Rafaam (9)
– 1x Archmage Rafaam (?)

I saw many downsides to the Rafaam Warlock deck early on during theorycrafting—like when Trump pulled **Timethief Rafaam** with a Dirty Rat, wrecking the OTK play despite the odds.

Still, this deck is a blast to play, racing to get the win condition online.

Even if you don’t pull off the kill, the individual Rafaams themselves pack a punch. For example, a 9/9 that Polymorphs the board or a 7/7 that duplicates itself.

With buffs like **Nightmare Lord Xavius**, these minions can be surprisingly strong. Don’t knock Rafaam until you try him!

These are just some of the decks you’re encouraged to try on day one of Hearthstone: *Across the Timeways*. The expansion goes live today—what decks are you planning to use?
