Famke Janssen Hasn’t Heard From Disney About Jean Grey’s Return To ‘X-Men’

After 25 years, Famke Janssen remains synonymous with the X-Men character Jean Grey, and she’s still waiting for her invitation to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Despite several of her co-stars reuniting for the upcoming film *Avengers: Doomsday*, the actress revealed that she has “never ever” spoken to Disney about potentially bringing back her mutant with psionic powers.

“Every time I do an interview, it’s mentioned. It’s interesting,” Janssen told *Entertainment Weekly*. “I didn’t realize that was such a big part. Every interview I do, that will come up, and of everything I say, that is going to be the only thing that’s gonna be printed.”

Janssen continued, “I should be flattered, I suppose, that this character has resonated with people. It’s been so long, but it’s nice that people are still talking about her. I’m sure every single time there’s a new movie that they’re doing, it’ll come up again.”

Meanwhile, several of her former X-Men co-stars—including Ian McKellen (Magneto), Rebecca Romijn (Mystique), James Marsden (Cyclops), Alan Cumming (Nightcrawler), Kelsey Grammer (Beast), and Channing Tatum (Gambit)—have signed on to reprise their roles in *Avengers: Doomsday*, which is set to premiere on December 18, 2026.
