College GameDay just kicked off the Week 10 edition, and Pat McAfee is already making headlines—shirtless. Just five minutes into the show, Utah football fans in Salt Lake City convinced the eccentric host to remove his shirt in anticipation of their top-25 matchup against Cincinnati.
As the show was getting started, fans began chanting “take it off” in unison as soon as McAfee started talking. The relentless chants quickly persuaded the host, especially once he remembered that the broadcast was streaming live on X (formerly Twitter) and TikTok for the first time.
“It’s early,” McAfee said. “It’s 7:05 a.m. on a Saturday. We’re live on X and TikTok Live for the first time. You know, gotta do it.”
Utah’s matchup with Cincinnati is scheduled to kick off at 8:15 p.m. MT locally, making it the second-latest start time of Week 10. That didn’t stop Utes fans from showing up early—well before sunset—a fan tradition they have become known for.
While McAfee typically removes his shirt near the end of College GameDay, this time he’ll be going through the entire three-hour show wearing nothing but pants. Despite chilly Salt Lake City weather hovering near 40 degrees on Saturday morning, it hasn’t seemed to affect McAfee one bit.
### Utah Football Fans Hype Up Cincinnati Matchup
Although Utah is just 1-1 in its last two games, Utes fans are buzzing with excitement to see their team back on the field in Week 10 against Cincinnati.
The Bearcats come into the matchup riding a seven-game win streak, having avoided defeat since their Week 1 opener against Nebraska in Kansas City. Meanwhile, Utah recently suffered a heartbreak loss to in-state rival BYU but bounced back emphatically in Week 9 with a dominant 53-7 victory over Colorado.
Interestingly, Deion Sanders called the loss to Utah the “worst beating” he has taken since his childhood.
Both Utah and Cincinnati rank within the top five of the Big 12 as the regular season approaches its final month. The Bearcats hold a 5-0 league record, second only to BYU, making them one of the frontrunners to reach the conference championship game.
Ranked No. 17 nationally, Cincinnati is firmly in the College Football Playoff conversation as November progresses—an emergence few predicted at the season’s start.
Utah still has a path to the conference title game, though they will likely need some help along the way. Regardless, this matchup is a must-win for both teams and their championship aspirations.
