How to Get a Custom Weapon Loadout in Battlefield 6: REDSEC

Battlefield 6: REDSEC uniquely blends elements from many popular battle royale games, and one standout feature is the limited ability to build custom loadouts. Knowing how to equip your custom-built weapons and class-specific abilities during a match is crucial to securing victory. Here’s everything you need to know.

Custom Weapon Loadouts: What You Need to Know

Unlike Warzone, Battlefield 6: REDSEC doesn’t allow you to carry a full custom loadout from the start. However, you can equip two custom-built weapons carrying more—and better—attachments than what you’ll typically find by looting on the map.

To obtain these custom weapon loadouts, you have two main options:

  • Find and loot custom weapon drops on the map during a match.
  • Call in a custom weapon drop by completing a mission that rewards it.

Locating and Securing Custom Weapon Drops

Custom weapon drops appear periodically around the map. You can identify them by their distinctive rocket-pod symbols visible on both your minimap and HUD.

However, these drops tend to be hot zones as everyone knows their locations and rushes in to claim these powerful weapons. This often turns the areas into intense live-fire battles.

Calling in Your Own Custom Weapon Drop

If you prefer a safer route, completing specific missions that reward a custom weapon drop is the way to go. Calling in a drop for you and your squad ensures you keep the weapons for yourself without contest. These missions typically lean towards PvP risk challenges but aren’t significantly harder.

Once your custom weapon drop arrives, you’ll be able to select from the custom weapon builds you have created and favorited in your Loadouts outside of matches.

How to Favorite a Weapon Build: Open the skin select or customize screen, then press X on keyboard or Square on PS5/Xbox to mark the weapon build as a favorite.

Completing Your Loadout

Grabbing custom weapons is just one part of assembling a strong loadout. You’ll also need to scavenge the map for essential items like RPGs and Defibrillator kits to round out your equipment.

Having an airstrike ready in your arsenal is also highly recommended to gain the upper hand, especially during late-game encounters.

Recommended Mid-to-Late Game Loadout

  • One or two custom weapons
  • An RPG or Anti-Air (AA) launcher
  • Defibrillator
  • Smoke or frag grenades
  • A mortar or strafing run offensive Strike Package

Even a group of silent, random teammates has a strong chance of pulling off an unexpected victory when equipped with this setup. The odds may be tough, but intelligent use of airstrikes during the closing circle and Defibs to revive your squadmates can turn the tide of battle dramatically.

Master your custom loadouts and strategic item usage in Battlefield 6: REDSEC to increase your chances of dominating the battlefield!
