Some of the challenges in **Battlefield 6** can be a bit wacky, requiring you to play or do things in a match that you might not normally focus on. One such challenge is getting smoke assists for the Support 3 class assignment. While it can be annoying, it’s definitely not too hard to accomplish with the right approach.
### How to Get Smoke Assists in Battlefield 6
To earn smoke assists and complete the Support 3 class challenge, you first need to throw a smoke grenade. After that, a teammate must either kill or down an enemy through the smoke you deployed. This means you’ll need to use your smoke grenades wisely and place them strategically during matches.
### Recommended Strategy
My go-to recommendation is to play the **Breakthrough** game mode, especially on smaller maps like **New Sobek City**, **Manhattan Bridge**, or **Empire State**. No matter which side you’re on, select the Support class and head towards the areas with the most intense fighting.
Try to put your smoke grenade down at or near one of the main sightlines where enemies and teammates often clash. Once the smoke is in place, all you can do is wait and hope your teammates take advantage of the visibility obscured by your smoke.
### Tips for Success
Based on my testing, it helps to be on or near the objective, ideally in close-quarters combat zones. For example, I managed to get three smoke assists in quick succession on the final point of New Sobek City after throwing down smoke to revive some teammates.
### What You Need to Complete the Challenge
You will need a total of **50 smoke assists** to complete the Support 3 challenge. This means you’ll likely have to play through at least a few matches to accumulate enough assists. If your matches are long and go through every sector down to the wire, you might only need a small number of games to get there.
### Other Game Modes
While it’s possible to earn smoke assists in other game modes like Conquest, the condensed nature of Breakthrough makes it easier and more efficient. In other modes, aim for the close-quarters points to improve your chances, but keep in mind it probably won’t be as efficient as playing Breakthrough on smaller maps.

By following this strategy, you should be able to earn your smoke assists steadily and complete the Support 3 class challenge without too much frustration. Good luck on the battlefield!
