The Outer Worlds 2 has a helmet that makes it look like an arcade game, including an ‘insert coins to continue’ option

The Outer Worlds 2 has some truly strange gear. After exploring Arcadia’s many moons and space stations, visiting various merchants, and completing quests, I’ve come across some weird weapons and armor that stand out. Notable examples include a gun that fires corrosive tumors you can then eat for health, a hammer with a built-in slot machine that randomly rewards jackpots, and a cowboy hat that boosts damage by 99% if you wait six seconds without shooting anyone in combat.

It’s great, quite frankly, that The Outer Worlds 2 leans heavily into the absurdity of its setting, offering the kind of weird and wacky build options you’d expect in a game like Borderlands 4. But the strangest helmet I’ve encountered so far in my travels through outer space is by far **A New Point of View Mk 2**.

### A New Point of View Mk 2: The Most Unusual Helmet

This fancy dome-protector is relatively tough to acquire, and you’ll likely miss it entirely (along with other strange gear) if you don’t complete a specific collectible quest. However, it’s well worth the effort for its defining feature: it completely changes the game’s visual style.

At first, I thought it was just a helmet, but when I equipped it, the game transformed into arcade-style pixelated visuals. It also has a unique gameplay feature—if you get downed, rather than using a Trauma Kit, you can pay **2,000 bits** to get back up, almost like an “Insert coins to continue” option. This revival also grants you **+50% damage resistance for 30 seconds**.

### Is the Cost Worth It?

2,000 bits is no small amount of money in The Outer Worlds 2. But when weighing the option of dying in a tough combat and having to load a save, this feature could definitely be worth it, especially in challenging boss fights.

That said, the game offers so many powerful helmets—like the Lone Ranger cowboy hat with its 99% damage buff—that it’s hard to justify using one with such an occasional benefit.

### How to Get A New Point of View Mk 2

After completing Paradise Island, you’ll be given the option to head to the Sub Rosa faction base, **Free Market Station**. Once there, make your way to the bazaar and find **The 2nd Choice Saloon**. Head upstairs and speak with **Fionna F. Walker**, a specialist merchant who will challenge you to compare Tossball/Pitchball card collections.

To gain access to her special inventory, you’ll need to collect **25 Tossball cards** and use them to defeat her. While 25 cards might sound like a lot, you can actually find them all on Paradise Island, Free Market Station, and the last few on Golden Ridge. I’ll be publishing a full guide upon the game’s full release to help locate each card.

### What’s in Fionna’s Inventory?

Unlocking Fionna’s inventory not only allows you to purchase **A New Point of View Mk 2**, but also some other unique items like the slot machine hammer and a rhythm game sword. Keep in mind, all these items will cost you quite a few bits.

For example, A New Point of View Mk 2 comes with a price tag of **6,300 cash-money**, so depending on your playstyle, you might prefer picking up some of her other gear instead of fully committing to the arcade-style visuals.

The Outer Worlds 2 continues to impress with its blend of humor, inventive gear, and unique gameplay twists. If you’re someone who loves a bit of absurdity in your RPG, this helmet is definitely worth hunting down.
