WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle made his name in the Stamford-based promotion and also cemented his legacy with his work in TNA Wrestling. Recently, Angle shared his thoughts on how WWE management views Chad Gable, expressing disagreement with their assessment.
Under the old regime, WWE superstars were often judged heavily based on their physical appearance. Although a new leadership team took over following Vince McMahon’s departure, many of those old-school mentalities remain deeply rooted backstage. This often influences which wrestlers receive pushes on WWE’s main roster.
In a recent appearance on *The Ariel Helwani Show*, the 56-year-old WWE and TNA legend expressed happiness for Chad Gable and his success within the company. However, Angle believes that WWE’s office still looks down on the multi-time Tag Team Champion because of his size — a viewpoint he feels is unfair.
“I think he’s great. I’m happy that he was able to find his niche. I know it’s kind of identical to mine, but if it works for him, I’m happy for him,” Angle stated. “I think, regardless of whether he did my character or anybody else’s, I think the kid’s incredibly talented. I think he would’ve succeeded either way.
“You know the problem with him? I think it’s only because the office [WWE] looks at him like this, but he’s a little undersized. But that’s not an excuse; Chris Benoit was 5’9. Eddie Guerrero was 5’8. Rey Mysterio is 5’5. So, someone like Chad could definitely be a main eventer.”

### Kurt Angle Has No Interest in Returning to the Ring
Kurt Angle spent nearly two decades as a professional wrestler, creating a legacy in both WWE and TNA Wrestling. His final run in WWE saw him inducted into the Hall of Fame and serve as RAW’s General Manager, before losing to Baron Corbin at WrestleMania 35.
Since retiring from in-ring competition, many fans have speculated whether Angle might come back for one final match. However, in a recent interview on *Six Feet Under with The Undertaker*, the 56-year-old legend firmly denied any interest in returning to the ring and declined proposals to face The Deadman in a potential farewell bout.
