Ravens’ Lamar Jackson practices Thursday amid hamstring injury

While the Baltimore Ravens prepare to face the Chicago Bears in their Week 8 matchup, fans are eagerly anticipating the return of star quarterback Lamar Jackson. Jackson has missed the past two games due to a hamstring injury, leaving uncertainty around his availability. Fortunately, there is hope, as Jackson returned to practice on Wednesday and participated again on Thursday.

This is undoubtedly positive news for the Ravens and their fanbase. However, as reported by Jamison Henley, Jackson “will be limited again” while continuing to recover from the right hamstring injury he sustained earlier in the season. Henley noted on X, formerly Twitter, “Ravens QB Lamar Jackson practiced for a second straight day, but it looks like he will be limited again on Thursday.”

Baltimore head coach John Harbaugh spoke after Wednesday’s practice when asked about Jackson’s chances of playing on Sunday. His response was cautious and non-committal. “It’s hard to put a number on it. It’s part of the process now,” Harbaugh said, according to ESPN. “I really don’t have any shareable injury intelligence for you at this point.”

Through four games this season, Jackson has thrown for 869 yards, compiling 10 touchdowns to just one interception. His impact on the field remains significant, and his potential return could change the dynamics of the Ravens’ offense.

Harbaugh expressed satisfaction simply seeing Jackson back on the practice field, an indicator of progress for the team. “It was good, it was good,” Harbaugh told NFL.com. “I was happy with all the guys, seeing everybody out there. We got a lot of guys out there. So that was great.”

When it comes to the backup quarterback situation, Harbaugh remained tight-lipped. “There’s no value to be making any comments on that,” he said. “We don’t need to put the information out there, really.” The options are between Cooper Rush and Tyler Huntley, both of whom saw playing time in Baltimore’s 17-3 loss to the Los Angeles Rams last Sunday.

The Ravens are eager to turn their season around. Currently holding a 1-5 record and riding a four-game losing streak, Baltimore will look to snap that skid when they take on the Chicago Bears this Sunday. Jackson’s participation, even if limited, could be a crucial factor in changing the team’s fortunes moving forward.
