Pokemon Legends: Z-A sells 5.8 million units in first week of sales

The Pokémon series has always been wildly popular, and the latest entry, Pokémon Legends: Z-A, proves that the franchise still has plenty of fire. This new installment in the Legends spinoff has managed to amass almost 6 million units sold in its first week of release.

On October 23, 2025, The Pokémon Company released a statement noting that Pokémon Legends: Z-A sold 5.8 million units within its first week. This impressive figure places the game firmly within Nintendo’s highly sought-after million-seller club.

While 5.8 million units is a massive sales number, it does fall short compared to Pokémon Scarlet & Violet’s combined 10 million units sold in the first three days. However, since Scarlet and Violet are two separate games, a more appropriate comparison is with Pokémon Legends: Arceus, which sold 12.64 million units over 63 days.

It will be interesting to see how Pokémon Legends: Z-A performs over the next eight weeks. So far, it has come out of the gate at a breakneck pace, suggesting strong continued sales ahead.

The game also released to rave reviews. Shacknews’ Donovan Erskine praised it, writing that Pokémon Legends: Z-A “continues the trend of bucking against series norms while maintaining the essence of what makes these games so special for fans.”
