The Hawaii women’s soccer team conceded two early goals en route to a 2-0 loss to Cal State Northridge on Thursday at Waipio Peninsula Soccer Stadium. The Rainbow Wahine (3-6-8, 1-2-4 Big West) were shut out for the fifth time in their past 10 games.
Siena Navarra opened the scoring at 6:02, followed by Paige Califf, who converted a penalty kick at 17:56 for the Matadors (6-6-3, 4-0-2). On the defensive end, Hawaii’s Kennedy Justin made two saves in the first half, while teammate Brianna Chirpich made one save in the second. Cal State Northridge’s Riley Liebsack recorded three saves during the match.

In sailing news, UH sailor Erik Anderson has qualified for the Intercollegiate Sailing Association (ICSA) Singlehanded National Championships, becoming the first Rainbow Warrior to earn a bid in 18 years.
Anderson, a senior from Seattle, will compete in the event scheduled for November 8-9 in Norfolk, Virginia. He earned his spot after achieving three consecutive top-three finishes at the PCCSC Singlehanded Championships. Anderson is the first UH men’s sailor to qualify for the ICSA Singlehanded event since Mark Spector in 2007.
