Quantic Dream, the studio behind acclaimed titles like *Heavy Rain* and *Detroit: Become Human*, has confirmed that it is working on a new competitive multiplayer video game. This project joins *Star Wars: Eclipse* as one of the upcoming games currently in development at David Cage’s studio.
In a recent letter to fans, David Cage provided an update on what’s been happening at Quantic Dream. He revealed that the studio is exploring “a competitive multiplayer experience,” marking a significant shift from their traditional focus on single-player, narrative-driven games.
Cage acknowledged this departure from their usual approach, stating, “But taking risks, challenging ourselves, exploring new ways of playing and telling stories, and attempting what seems impossible, has always been part of our DNA.”
The letter also touched on *Star Wars: Eclipse*, the highly anticipated narrative game announced back in 2021. While no new details were shared, Cage confirmed that development on the title is still ongoing.
With this move, Quantic Dream joins a growing list of major developers venturing into the multiplayer space amid the rising popularity of live service games. Last year, Rocksteady Games made a similar pivot with the release of *Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League*.
Stay tuned for more updates as Quantic Dream continues to evolve and expand its creative horizons.
