Every so often, we come across cat haters on social media who perpetuate the myth that cats are aloof creatures. They claim that cats don’t care about their humans and only tolerate us because we provide food. Of course, this is simply not true.
Anyone with even a basic knowledge of cats knows that cats do love their humans—it’s not even a question.
That said, some cats are indeed more antisocial than others. But this doesn’t mean they represent all cats. It’s similar to humans: some people don’t get along with others, but you wouldn’t generalize that to all humans.
These antisocial cats don’t necessarily dislike humans specifically; rather, they tend to be wary of most people. Only a select few manage to break through their walls and soften their seemingly stone-cold hearts.
Earning their trust takes a lot of work, persistence, patience, and the ability to face rejection time and time again.
If there is one creature in the world that has an abundance of all these qualities, it is, of course, kittens.
