A narrow gap of just two points separates fourth-place Cruz Azul from fifth-place Tigres, who have not lost an Apertura match in nearly two months.
Under the guidance of head coach Guido Pizarro, who is in his first term, Tigres is on track for at least a playoff spot and sits only three points off the top of the Apertura table.
